What data we process
We process the following categories of data to operate the app:
- Shopify session and authentication data, including access tokens.
- Merchant configuration such as report recipient, schedule, timezone, and category settings.
- Synced order, refund, and return records relevant to feedback analysis.
- Refund notes, return reasons, return reason notes, and customer return notes.
- Generated classifications, reasoning, reports, and related operational run history.
Some synced notes or return records can contain personal data if merchants or customers entered identifying information into Shopify.
Why we process data
- Authenticate the app and maintain installed shop sessions.
- Sync relevant commerce feedback records from Shopify.
- Classify feedback into merchant-configured issue categories.
- Generate and deliver merchant summaries and operational reports.
- Operate billing, security, diagnostics, and scheduling.
Subprocessors
- Shopify: App platform, merchant installation, and synced commerce data source.
- Supabase Postgres: Managed application database hosting and storage.
- OpenRouter: AI classification and structured report generation.
- Resend: Email delivery for merchant reports and notifications.
- Hetzner: Application and reverse-proxy hosting infrastructure.
Retention
We retain data according to the configured retention settings of the app environment. The app can separately retain merchant source data, generated reports, and operational run history for different periods.
If you need a copy of the current retention schedule for your environment, contact contact@frictioniq.net.
Security
Public app traffic is served over HTTPS. Shopify session tokens are encrypted before persistence. Database traffic is configured to use TLS in production.
Your instructions and rights
Merchants act as the controller for their Shopify store data. We act as a processor when handling merchant data through the app. If you want data deleted, exported, or corrected, contact us at contact@frictioniq.net.
